from one of my favorite games ever, this is claptrap from borderlands. its lifesized and it was a ton of work. i used cardstock to ensure sturdiness.

hey deetzilla,
very nice work, and i'm very concerned to hear about the collapse...
can you tell me what weight your paper was? because i want to build it, too, and i want to to it as stable as possible.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm unsure of the exact weight of the paper, but I can tell you that I used cardstock. In the download for the template, there's a PDF file of instructions for building the craft that includes certain techniques for reinforcing certain parts of the model (cardboard tube between the arms, paper strips to support some areas etc). Try to find the thickest paper possible and use really good glue. I'm sure it would have stayed together if the glue was a bit stronger.

thanks for the sympathy, but ill never rebuild that ever. though the detail was breathtaking, the work was killer. i have it immortalized in pictures so thats a good enough trophy for me.
